This Holiday, Give Scammers the Slip!

With back-to-school shopping in full swing and the holidays looming, no doubt your credit and debit card will be getting some mileage. It’s during these busy times that our guard comes down, and the door opens to unscrupulous identity thieves and scammers. Learn how to protect yourself and what to do if you suspect someone has accessed your personal account information.

• Limit the number of credit cards you carry with you. If you lose one card, the others are safe at home, and you’ll have less of a headache when you go to sort everything out later.
• Be aware of those around you when inputting your PIN number. Whether you’re at the checkout counter or an ATM machine, make sure you cover up your PIN number and be alert of anyone acting suspiciously. Also, safely tuck away your cash and do not leave it exposed.
• When making online purchases, be sure to check your credit card statement for fraudulent purchases. Make sure you’re purchasing from a reputable source, and if you’re not sure, give them a call and place your order over the phone.
• Check your receipts and shred any that display your entire credit card number.

If your identity has been compromised, contact the Credit Union and any credit card issuers immediately. By contacting these financial institutions immediately, you limit your liability. Three New Companies Join North Penn FCU

North Penn FCU would like to extend a special welcome to our newest additions into our credit union family. Gleba Trucking, Dean’s Harley-Davidson, Inc., and Triumph Controls, LLC have been approved by NCUA, Washington, D.C. The employees and families of each are now eligible to use the many services available with North Penn FCU.

Motor Vehicle Certification Program (MVCP)

The MVCP offers consumer information to members who are purchasing a new vehicle. The Credit Union urges members to call MVCP at 1-800-345-0990.
